Learning and Living our Elder's Wisdom: Youth Power for Land, Forests, and Territories in Asia
'Adivasi youth leadership in the Nilgiris' is a report on 'People Power Change, a community organizing handbook' a social intervention conducted by Haiyya Foundation. The main purpose of this report was to gather all the learnings and observation made by the organizers written in a form of a story. The approach was to make it in a qualitative form rather than being quantitative as it deals with communal consciousness and societal perceptions and its challenges. Reflections and Recommendations from Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities
Indigenous and local community in Asia and around the world more broadly, often straddle what seems like impossible compromises. They navigate the delicate balance between forces of modernization and their intergenerational connection to home and community.

This report shows how by building a strong intergenerational bond with their communities, culture and ecological context, youth is inspired to be self-motivated defenders of their collective rights. Mentors and movements energize their growth, and solidarity from allies strengthens their struggles.
