The brief for the module was to design a poster for a hypothetical film.
Given the star cast (Jodie Comer Barry Keoghan Paddy Considine) and the director (Shane Meadows) we had to research though the films and find ways to best way to follow their style and come up with the most plausible design that fits the vibe of the story.
Keeping the keywords derived from the synopsis of the story, created a moodboard that encapsulates the feel of the film. The feeling of youth and summer yet chaos and gitty characters and going though tough times were major keypoints
Explored some font styles and composition of image and text together in these roughs.
Choose a photo by Katrin Korfmann and decided to clean up and rearrange some bits for the text to fit in properly. Played with the people and shadows to create some subtle mistakes to be contrasting to the title.
Layered the image with some textures.
Used only two fonts for contrast. Bebas Neue a bold strong and clean masculine font complementing of balancing it with Bodoni Svty font which is more softer rounder and has more character. Played with the concept of shadow for everything and made is alright tilted to align to the concept of light and shadow which blends well with the concept of the image.
